Day 9
August 21, 1999
Getting up we could now see where we were. It was very late
when we had gotten off the ferry and gotten to our campsite, so everyone slept in. After
taking a look around, wouldn't you know it? There was a 9 hole golf course on the
property. So after we had breakfast in the restaurant, Matt and I played a round. By the
time we got back the girls had packed up the RV and we were off again exploring.
We parked near the wharf in Charlottetown, and then did the
walking tour thing. Being Canadians, to tour Province House and learn more about our
history was truly fascinating.
Matt found a local bike shop and they let him take a test
ride on the new GT I-Drive mountain bike. How a bicycle can cost over $2,000 I will never
understand. But when he returned, after finding every pothole and curb to bounce and jump
over, the smile on his face told us he had been to heaven and back.
From Charlottetown, we headed north to Prince Edward Island
National Park and got one of the few campsites on the shore at Cavendish Beach. We plugged
in and then made ourselves comfortable.

Michelle and I sitting on the left,
enjoying a bottle of wine from our dear friend Lynn.
We spent the evening taking in the local park
musical presentations and walking the beach in the dark.
