Day 11
August 23, 1999
With time running out, we again packed up and headed south
across the island this time taking the big bridge (Confederation Bridge) back to the
mainland.
Interesting tidbit - you don't pay to get on the island,
regardless if it's by ferry or bridge. But you pay to get off.
The weather again turned sunny and warm, a welcome sight. It
was starting to get real hot, so we pushed to try and make our next campsite, to leave
time for a quick swim. We set our sights on Shediac, New Brunswick. We were lucky to find
a campground that was within walking distance of the public beach. This beach was awsome.
One person told me that it is rated one of the nicest 10 beaches in North America. Who
would think here on the St. Lawerence? But the water was sooooo nice and warm, on average
they say it's 22 degrees C. We all enjoyed our swims.
