Dixie is what started it all at Gemstone Collies. She was Carol and Jim's foundation smooth bitch
and the rest speaks for itself. She has given so much to the breed and Gemstone's
breeding program. Gemstone has many Best of Breed in Specialties in Canada and
the United States and they all go back to Dixie.

When I first saw her seven years ago, in my mind she was what a smooth should look like.
From that moment on I knew I wanted something that went back to Dixie. LYR's breeding
program goes back to Dixie. She was ahead of her time for her type, even today if she was
still with us she could win in the show ring she is today's type of collie born yesterday.
