"You don't know what science fiction is?" asked the old man. He regarded you with a condescending look, his eyes gazing from you to all the various items in their exhibit cases. "Look around you! Speculative fiction, stories about the 'What if...?' that might have been, is, or might be in the future. This is a world where you can have all manner of interests, ranging from science fiction and fantasy literature, movies like Star Wars, and all sorts of areas in between."
"I know what sf is in a vague fashion," you say to him, trying to make him think you know what you're talking about. It doesn't fool him for a minute. "Before you say anything," you interject, "I'm willing to learn more about it. Well, at least about some of the aspects of sf and fantasy."
"Good," the old man says, smiling at you for the first time since you met him. "All hope is not yet lost. Why don't you come with me, and let's delve into some of my personal interests in this field...?"
"I'd be delighted," you say...
The true wonder of science fiction and fantasy, of course, is that there is such a diverse set of subjects that one can look at in this regard. Naturally enough, this set of pages is very much based around my personal interests in the science fiction and fantasy fields, with a primary interest in literature. I do have somewhat of an interest in media-related sf and fantasy, but only one of the three primary series that I like are dealt with in separate sections: Space Island One.
In the meantime, I'm sure that there is something in this set of pages devoted to science fiction and fantasy that will intrigue you and give you some pause for thought. Enjoy!
