Roger Taylor Page

One of the things you may have noticed on my web pages is a large chunk of space devoted to fantasy and science fiction literature. Each of us, of course, has our own tastes in this genre, and each of us has our favourite fantasy and science fiction writers. One of the things that has been quite dominant in my time reading sf and fantasy literature is the British genre of this fiction. One of the most innovative, most creative, most literary of the fantasy writers in the British scene is Roger Taylor. Oddly enough, when I first encountered Roger's writing, in The Call of the Sword, the book looked to be interesting with a plot about the amnesiac who comes down out of the mountains and is able to open the mysterious keep that has been sealed for centuries. The entire Chronicles of Hawklan series has a very Tolkien-esque feel to it, and it was one of the most enjoyable series I've read to this point. Roger Taylor's other novels are just as good, if not better in some ways, and he is best known for his epic fantasy Dream Finder.

To be honest, I don't know all that much about the author. Roger Taylor was born in Heywood, Lancashire, and is qualified as a civil and structural engineer. He is married, and lives with his wife. Roger has two daughters, both of whom are married, and he and his wife live in Wirral, Merseyside. He is a pistol shooter, and is also skilled in aikido. The Call of the Sword, the first book in the Chronicles of Hawklan series, was his first published novel.

The following is a listing of Roger Taylor's fiction to this point:

You can find out a lot more about Roger Taylor, and his works, on his web site. This site is still growing, but it's coming along nicely.
