Storm Constantine Page

British writers are one of the breeds of writers who don't seem to be afraid of exploring anything, when it comes to their prose and their subject matter. Good examples of this are the writings of Terry Pratchett, Clive Barker, Stephen Baxter, and a host of others. Storm Constantine is one of the British female writers whose works have a panache and class all of their own. Constantine doesn't seem to be afraid to explore the various elements of morality, sexuality, and other subjects that some science fiction and fantasy writers consider to be taboo. If nothing else, Storm Constantine's writings are avant garde works of gothic fantasy, many of them with a science fictional element to them. Some would even call several of her works gothic horror in the extreme.

Needless to say, Storm Constantine's books are very, very difficult to obtain in North America, although here in Canada we have a somewhat easier time of getting her books. My first encounter with Storm's works were the Wraeththu books, and these were very good, if not a bit on the bizarre side. Her novel, Hermetech, about a society in the future that is very much along the lines of cyberpunk but has an Old Englishe feel to it, was what hooked me on her works. She hasn't written all that many books, but there is a goodly amount of her material out there, if one can find it.

The following is a listing of Storm Constantine's fiction to this point:

Storm Constantine does not have her own Web page, as far as I know.
