Welcome to my Web page.
It really seems odd to me to welcome you to my Homepage. When I first created this set of webpages, I had only a somewhat limited experience with the Web, having only gained a reliable access to it around the 10th of November in 1996, and I uploaded the first version of this set of web pages on the 26th of that month Those web pages were extremely simple, back then. My experience with creating HTML files and web pages has grown since those days, so I think that one of the things folks who access my homepage will find is that there will be changes almost every time they come on board, especially if they do so only once or twice a week (and subject to how much work I manage to do in any given period of time on the Web pages).
By their very nature, websites tend to be constantly under construction and development, so I'm not even going to bother with putting in a section noting that this site is seemingly *always* under construction. Heck, the sheer amount of changes in terms of how this site looked when it first went on-line on November 26th, 1996 and now is indicative enough of the "constant construction" of web pages. Not to mention the alterations and revisions to this set of pages. The nature of this website makes the author of these pages always feel that way, so I can well imagine how some of the folks who visit the site feel about that. <g> During the early years of the website's development, I spent a great deal of time running Basilisk Dreams Books, the science fiction and fantasy bookstore that I ran and owned for almost nine (9!!) years, and as such, the work on the personal website tended to suffer a bit. Actually, a lot. <g> Even though the bookstore has been closed for almost 2 years now, I continue to try and keep the web pages on this site as up-to-date as I can manage, but this may require a bit of patience on the part of various folks who access the site regularly. Think of changes on this website as being pleasant surprises and the like.
These pages serve the purpose of being my forum on to the World Wide Web, and allow me to speak out and just ramble on about all manner of stuff. While I don't expect this web page to win any awards (and certainly hope that it doesn't win an award as the "Worst Web Page" either), you'll find that the pages contained herein will continue to evolve and change over time. One of the things you'll find on this set of web pages is an almost dearth of graphics. I consciously set out to make this set of pages "information heavy," rather than graphics intensive, and that's reflected on these pages. This may not appeal to everyone, of course, but c'est la vie.
The central design of these pages are based on my primary interests, and those interests are:
You will likely find that the What's New? page will be quite valuable in its own way. This page will constantly give the visitor to my site an idea of what material has changed, what changes I've made to the site, and the like. While I hope to keep this page as up-to-date as possible, sometimes circumstances will be beyond my control to do so. Be patient with me, and keep this page in mind when you visit the site. There is a lot of material pertaining to both the Science Fiction and Fantasy and the Roleplaying Games sections, and items and pages will be improved and removed from time to time. I have a limited space here, so stuff's gotta go at times! Just remember that patience is a virtue, and all that other good, wise stuff! <g>
As you'll likely have noticed, there are a lot of Web pages on my site. I would
appreciate it if you would leave me e-mail if you find any errors, out-of-date or up-to-date
links, and other typos or glitches that may crop up here. Of course, I'd be pleased to
hear from you if you just want to leave a comment or two about what you've seen here.
