Music Mans have a very distinctive tone that I find hard to give up. They are made by Ernie Ball.

A few years ago, Ernie Ball licenced the Music Man design to OLP guitars, who now make inexpensive copies of the StingRay and StingRay5. I think they are excellent instruments for a ridiculously low price. They sound almost identical to the "real thing".
