X: the Unheard Music (1986). Color, USA; directed by W.T. Morgan; documentary about the personalities in, and the music of, the early 1980's Los Angeles punk band X. There are studio and live performances by the band and interviews with band members, all nicely interspersed with footage of area DJs, record stores, old TV shows and commercials.
Urgh! A Music War (1981). 96 min., color, USA; directed by Derek Burbridge; punk, new wave, reggae and techno bands from Europe and the US recorded live in several locations in 1980. Includes appearances by the Go-Go's, X, Joan Jett, the Cramps, Toyah Wilcox, the Alley Cats, UB40, Magazine, Steel Pulse, and Klaus Nomi, among others.
Vice Squad : the Movie (1981-83). 65 min., released on videocassette only (PAL & VHS), U.K.; lots of live concert footage from the Bristol-based outfit fronted by Becki Bondage.

Ladies and Gentlemen, the Fabulous Stains (1981); also known as "All Washed Up". 87 min., color, Canada; directed by Lou Adler; Corrine Burns goes on tour with her band, The Fabulous Stains, with a washed-out glam-rock group and a rising British punk band; with guest appearences by none other than Sex Pistols Paul Cook and Steve Jones and Clash bassist Paul Simonon.
Repo Man (1986). 92 min., color, USA; directed by Alex Cox; classic punk fable of Otto, the newly hired car repossession man; includes appearances by the Circle Jerks as the nightclub band members and the Untouchables as the scooter boys.
Sid and Nancy : Love Kills (1984). 111 min., color, UK; directed by Alex Cox; based on the true story (yeah yeah...); includes music by Joe Strummer and the Pogues and a guest appearance by Courtney Love as another smack-head.
Straight to Hell (1987). Color, UK; directed by Alex Cox; featuring Joe Strummer and Courtney Love; includes appearances by Elvis Costello, Grace Jones and Poguesters Shane MacGowan, Spider Stacy and bassist Cait O'Riordan; music by the Pogues and Pray for Rain.
Tank Girl (1985). 104 min., color, USA; directed by Rachel Talalay; not punk per se, but close enough for my books: in a post-apocalyptic wasteland, tough chick Lori Petty (as Tank Girl Rebecca, who don't take no shit) and Naomi Watts (as the nerdy, bespeckled Jet Girl, who's been downtrodden for most of her life) steal a tank, tangle with villain Malcolm McDowell and get into a variety of mischief. Lots of great music by Hole, Devo, and Ice-T. Cameo by Iggy Pop. Lots of fun.
Times Square (1980). 111 min., color, USA; story follows the punk girl Nicky (played by Robin Johnson) and the nerdy girl Pamela (played by Trini Alvarado) as they break out of a mental institution and form a punk band called the Sleez Girls; music by the Ramones, Pretenders, Talking Heads and Patti Smith.
Suburbia; also known as "The Wild Side" (1984). Color, USA; directed by Penelope Spheeris; includes music by the Vandals, DI, and True Sounds of Liberty (T.S.O.L.)
